The person behind the camera

I am a 31 and mother of a beautiful pigeon pair, my son Felix and daughter Lucy. I grew up in North West Victoria with my large family, being the eldest of 14 siblings definitely had its challenges but has taught me so many important lessons in life and has given me a lot of compassion, love and patience that has helped me navigate life as a parent, social worker and now photographer.

I met my partner at 19, we've been supporting each others dreams and holding each others hands for 10 years now. We've had two beautiful children, been travelling, and are now living our best lives while chasing our goals and dreams.

We moved to the Gold Coast in 2016 as we felt it was time for a change of scenery, we have loved living in Queensland and couldn't imagine another place feeling so much like a home.

We are now starting a new adventure in 2024 as we relocate to Northern Brisbane.

Why Photography?

I've always been an avid lover of the arts, exploring many mediums during the years, but my main focus were lead drawings. Because of this I have dabbled with photography throughout the years, loving that I could capture the art of nature and the world.

Prior to becoming a mother I was in a very rewarding career, helping the vulnerable members of the community, and I loved my career choice! However it was very mentally taxing and I unknowingly was experiencing burnout towards the end. After having my son I knew I could no longer continue in my career path, while also trying to be the best mother I could be, and that I needed to explore other options. After some soul searching and inspiration from a family member I decided to jump in and give professional photography a real go, as it has always been something I enjoyed as a personal hobby and would allow me to express my creative side. The idea of still being able to help others, even if in a completely different way to my previous role, was motivating for me to give this my all.

So I jumped in and haven't regretted a second of it! I feel in my element behind the camera, my confidence soars and I'm excited for the future.

Goals and Aspirations

Being a mother was my life's aspiration, many people say they lose themselves a bit when they become a mother but I feel like I have finally found myself. Having achieved my main aspiration, I now want to be the best mother that I can be every day, give my children as many opportunities as possible and show them the many joys of life from the little things to the big. My most important goal is to be present with my family while being able to support them.

I would love to be able to eventually travel with my photography and become recognized for my work, my goal is to gain enough skills to be able to use my creativity and love for art to create beautiful artworks with my camera that can be appreciated by many people.
